Well done, Holt!!! Geoff Holt, 41, who is paralysed from the chest down, has become the first disabled person to sail around Britain single-handed.

He set off from Southampton on May 20 with his specially-adapted trimaran called Freethinker, and completed the 1,400-mile voyage when he finally reached the finishing post in Southampton Water after 109 days.

Mr Holt, who has been confined to a wheelchair since a diving accident in 1984 described the trip as his "personal Everest".

The brave sailer said: "I have always wanted to sail around Great Britain and I cannot believe that I have done it."

He has been supported by his wife Elaine and five-year-old son Timothy who have followed him the whole time.
