President George W. Bush's wife, Laura Bush, who suffered from pinched nerves in her neck, will undergo outpatient surgery on Saturday. According to her spokeswoman - Sally McDonough, the problem prevented her from accompanying President George W. Bushto Australia for the annual meeting of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum in Sydney. Laura Bush will undergo "elective, outpatient surgery" to take care of two pinched nerves and was expected to return home the same day, she added.

Mrs. Bush injured a nerve in her neck and shoulder earlier this year while hiking and has been treated with physical therapy since, McDonough said late last month. Her doctors strongly advised her to not travel overseas, saying such long flights could aggravate the problem and cause complications. [Quoed from FoxNews]
