A 18-year-old Bowie State University student, missing for a week was found alive on Powder Mill Road in Beltsville by a girl, who spotted him lying there. Julian McCormick'ssurvival was a "miracle," said paramedics. He had been missing since leaving campus on Saturday morning, Sept. 1 to pick up his girlfriend at the University of Maryland.

Julian McCormick crashed his car into the ravine off Powder Mill Road in a remote area of Beltsville on Sept. 1. Exactly one week later, he somehow managed to crawl through the creek and up an embankment to the shoulder of the road.

Lee Hess, who was driving through the area, spotted him at 6 p.m. Saturday. "I don't know how long he'd been laying there. He looked dehydrated, horrible," she said.

Police said it is possible he fell asleep and veered off the road, down a 25 to 30 foot embankment. The car flipped onto its top. [Quoted from nbc4]
