84 surfers riding on a single wave at 'Quebra Mar' beach, Brazil

Brazilian surfers ride a wave in an attempt to set a new Guinness World Record for the most surfers riding on a single wave simultaneously, at 'Quebra Mar' beach, in Santos, south of Sao Paulo, Brazil, September 2, 2007. Organizer claimed a new record of 84 surfers riding on a wave for five seconds, breaking the previous world record of 73, set last year in South Africa.

In Capetown, 310 surfers joined the event but were only able to muster 71 on the same wave this year.

In Santos, southeast of Sao Paulo, 120 joined the event and 84 of them managed to get on the same wave. [Quoted from France24]
