The 317-year-old Barclays' iconic eagle emblem that has stood on top of Barclays House in Poole, Desert for more than 30 years has been brought down to earth yesterday. The 14ft-wide aluminium eagle, which weighs 1.3 tonnes, was removed from its 117ft perch on the top of Barclays House with the help of two cranes. The decision to remove the logo was because it looked like a Nazi symbol. It will now be placed in storage until Barclays decide what to do with it.
