Amazing scenes of Shitla Mata

Devotees of “Shitla Mata” with iron rods pierced through cheeks or tongue take out an annual religious procession called Shitla Mata in Chandigarh on August 19, 2007. They subject themselves to painful rituals during the religious procession to demonstrate their faith and penance to the deity at a temple dedicated to goddess Shitla.
