A World War II-era plane was forced to make an emergency landing on a Wisconsin highway 41 near Fond du Lac County Airport after experiencing engine problems about 7.45 pm local time.

William J. Leff, from Ohio, was flying the 1946 North American T-6G plane with his son to the Experimental Aircraft Association's AirVenture show in Oshkosh when they developed engine problems, police said.

Thankfully no injuries were reported, but the plane's right wing was damaged after it hit several highway signs.

The highway was closed for hours creating serious traffic jams until authorities managed to turn the impromptu runway back into a motorist friendly road. Link, Video
