A new world record was created on Thursday involving three thousand people, three thousand skipping ropes, and three minutes.

The rope jumpers in the central Chinese city of Changsha gathered on a pedestrian street and skipped simultaneously. They broke the previous Guinness World Record (2,474 people) set by Hong Kong citizens in 2005.

The 3,009 enthusiastic participants spanned all ages, ranging from 10 years to 68. Many came with their entire families. Link
