It was taken by a tourist, Dean Bertoncelj, 39, with a standard camera at a nature reserve on Lanzarote in the Canary Isles.
The Croatian from Zagreb said: "I lay down on the ground waiting for it to arrive and unbelievably it swooped down right in front me and picked up a fish. I think it is the best picture I've ever taken."
